Sara White
Sara is a qualified doctor, having graduated from University College London with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), as well as an Intercalated BSc in Medical Sciences with Medical Anthropology, which achieved a First.
Following a placement in Tanzania in her final year of medical school, an internship at Macmillan Cancer Support, and after much soul-searching, Sara realised her real passion lay not in medicine but in how people communicate with each other, and the way in which communications can play a vital role in determining more equitable health outcomes.
Combined with her medical expertise, Sara’s natural intelligence, empathy and innate desire to make a difference give her a unique position from which to head up our PR function. She has developed strong relationships with key journalists and commentators in the health and social sectors, and has an instinctive ability to gauge the media temperature. With a keen eye for detailĀ and a rare talent for writing, she is incisive in her ability to condense impenetrable research or complex, scientific prose into a compelling, newsworthy story.
Under Sara’s watchful eye, Salix regularly achieves influential coverage in flagship news programmes.
